Integrated switching power supply refers to the use of multilayer thick film substrate technology to integrate components, driving logic and related protection circuits into a chip to achieve the expected function. In the past 20 years, the integrated switching power supply has been developing in two directions: one is the integration of the control circuit of the switching power supply, such as pulse width modulation (PWM) chip, pulse frequency modulation (PFM) chip; One is the single chip integration of medium and small power switching power supply, such as the three-terminal isolated pulse width modulation single chip switching power supply TOPSwitch series chip developed by the United States PowerIntegration Company (PowerIntegrations) in the world.
Modularization refers to the modularization of power devices and unit circuits. Due to the increase of switching frequency, the influence of lead parasitic inductance and parasitic capacitance is more and more serious, which increases the stress borne by the device. In order to improve the reliability of the system, a special power module is developed. Modularity not only makes the user convenient and flexible, but also eliminates the traditional connection and minimizes parasitic parameters. Integration and modularization not only reduce the wiring and welding of switching power supplies, improve reliability, but also reduce the size of the power supply and reduce weight.
