In recent years, the primary factor contributing to the miniaturization of various electronic devices is the result of the high-density semiconductor integrated circuits, which are particularly dependent on miniaturized power supplies that can provide a stable supply of driving power to such electronic components. This type of power supply is still used switching power supply, but it is known that the effective way to miniaturize it is the high frequency of the switching frequency, and the current frequency standard has been increased from thousands of Hertz used in the early development to hundreds of kilohertz. Its volume is also reduced by more than one-tenth under the influence of this trend.
On the other hand, the problem of increasing switching losses and switching shocks, along with the process of high-frequency, is particularly prominent, resulting in the miniaturization of such power supplies temporarily stalled. Recently, various types of soft switching technologies based on resonant converters and active position circuits have been derived from the technology of reducing switching losses and shocks, which has once again promoted the development speed towards miniaturization.
